Breast Feeding/Postnatal Drop Ins
Breast feeding is the healthiest and most natural start for a baby, and protects against ear infections, diarrhoea, stomach upsets, chest infections, eczema and other illnesses. As well as these it will encourage the best mouth formation and mental health.
By breast feeding, mothers are also protecting their own health, by lowering the possibilities of breast cancer, ovarian cancer and osteoporosis in later life, as well as invaluable bonding with their baby.
Studies show that women who have additional support during their breast feeding were more likely to continue. The government recommends exclusive breast feeding ideally for the first 6 months of life.
At Storks we aim to help and support women who are experiencing problems breast feeding. Whilst we have a wealth of experience of helping and supporting breastfeeding mothers ourselves, we also have links to other experts in the field who may also be able to contribute in the success of your experience.
Home visits can be arranged, often at short notice. Please telephone and let us know how we can help you.
