Enhanced Midwifery Care

Enhanced Midwifery care has been shown by the government to be successful and works well within the existing NHS maternity services.

NICE guidelines indicate that a woman should be seen regularly at monthly intervals (approximately 7 to 10 times in the antenatal period) as necessary.
These needs are generally met however some women would prefer to be seen more regularly by the same midwife in a calm and relaxed environment and with sufficient time to cover any issues that may be concerning her.

At Storks we are able to provide this, meeting your needs and also working within your budget. Your wishes and what will make a difference to your pregnancy will be discussed during our initial meeting. We hope that any fears and needs will be addressed and a plan of care worked out.

You may then choose to have just a single consultation, an ad-hoc program with appointments as and when you feel the need or you may decide on a full program of planned care for your entire pregnancy.

The most important aspect of enhanced midwifery care is that it meets your needs and that of your pregnancy. That is why the choice is yours.
